USAKA Full Contact Rules

Full contact 

USAKA  Full Contact can be defined as a discipline of Kickboxing where the intention of a fighter is to beat his opponent with full power and strength.  Punches and kicks must be delivered to legal target areas which are above the waist.  
USAKA competitors must have their USAKA membership up to date and valid for any competition they are participating in.

  • Legal Target Areas
  • Head front and side
  • Torso front and side
  • Foot – for sweeping purposes only
Prohibited Techniques and Behavior
  • Any and all attacks to the throat, groin, kidneys, back, legs, joints, back of the head or neck
  • Elbows, knife hands, head buts
  • Over the ankle foot sweeps
  • Turning of back
  • Knees
  • Kicking below the waist
  • Punching below the waist
  • Ducking below waist
  • Wrestling of any kind
  • Excessive falling down
  • Blind techniques
  • Attacking a down fighter
  • Attacking an opponent caught in between the ropes
  • Leaving the ring during a bout
  • Throwing of an opponent
  • Hitting after a break or stoppage of action

Violations based on severity may result in warnings, minus of points and or disqualification

  • All Boxing Punches
  • Back Fist and/or Spinning Back Fist (allowed only in the USA… Not for or against an international team or intercontinental/international tournament)
  • Front Kicks
  • Side Kicks
  • Roundhouse Kicks
  • Heel or Hook Kicks
  • Crescent Kicks
  • Axe Kicks
  •  Jump Kicks
  • Foot sweeps (foot to foot only followed by a striking technique)

Hand and foot techniques should be used equally during entire fighting period with an emphasis on Kicking.

All Full contact competitions require amateur fighters to throw 6 kicks per round.  In the event the required amount of kicks is not met in the first round, the fighter will be given the chance to make up the missed amount of kicks in the second.  A point will be deducted should the fighter not make up his kicks in the second round.  Should a fighter not meet the required kicks two rounds in a row, the fighter will be disqualified.  Should a fighter deliver the required minimum in rounds one and two yet fail to deliver the required amount in round 3, a point will automatically be deducted.  
All techniques should be used with full power.  Any techniques that is partially deviated or blocked, or that simply touches, brushes, or pushes, an opponent will not be scored.
