Nathan Key Steps in to Face Marco Capobianco

Nathan KeysAs the August 7th Team USA vs Canada event draws closer, Minnesota's Jamie McDermid was forced to pull out of his fight with Canada's Marco Capobianco due to personal reasons. But one of Team USA's most talented weight classes is between 156-165lbs. Filling in on short notice will be Augusta, Georgia's Nathan Key.

Key may be taking the bout on only a few weeks notice, but he hasn't been out of the gym. Nathan Key has been training for a World Title Fight on August 14th; unfortunately that event was cancelled the same week he got the call to fight in Minneapolis and he jumped at the opportunity to fight in another World Class event. Nathan is also preparing to fight in the 2010 IKF World Classic which takes place in Orlando, Florida this upcoming weekend. To make things more interesting, Canada's Marco Capobianco is registered to fight in the same division at the World Classic (Light Middleweight 150.1-160lbs).

These two fighters are no strangers to tournaments. Both fighters competed in the 71kg division last year at the 2009 WAKO World Championships in Lignano, Italy. Both Key and Capobianco fought their way to the final 8 of the tournament. They didn't cross paths in Italy, but being the two top fighters in the division, these two exciting fighters will most likely face eachother at the World Classic in Florida. This means fans in Minneapolis will get the privilage of watching a rematch between two of the World's best kickboxers. Both fighters will get a chance to go back to the gym and make corrections; this means you can expect to see one of the greatest fights of the year as one fights for redemption and the other looks solidifies his dominance
